we just returned from portland where we visited with Kea and Lorrin and a few of matt's friends from college. we arrived friday evening at lorrin's apartment in the pearl. brev just LOVED all the lighted trees. lorrin and kea cooked us a great meal, and we ended the night by giving brev a candy cane...pictures below! i only let him have for about 3 minutes because i was afraid of it breaking off into his mouth. needless to say, the boy LOVED it. i had to give him a serious scrub down afterwards though. on saturday, we woke up early, got coffee, then hit up some stores for the rest of the afternoon. we miss portland, especially during christmas time when everyone is out and about getting ready for christmas. brev sat on santa's lap and shared all his christmas wishes with him (a high chair is on the top of his list). saturday evening auntie kea hosted a holiday party. brev was the life of the party, smiling and cooing at everyone. we headed home from the party early so the boy could get a good night sleep, and his mommy and daddy too! cheers!!!

a month worth of posting...
hill family photo on the coast
Rossknecht "jean" family photo at the coast...
i know, i know...it's been almost a month since i've posted any updates on the hill clan. hard to imagine a month has just gone. the main reason we haven't posted is we've been living at matt's new office. we've been painting, decorating, directing the tile guy, floor guy, window guy, etc. each waking minute. BUT, our main squeeze is amazing and just growing like crazy. each day we wake up to find something new he can do. today, his hair grew overnight. :) so cute!!! instead of posting each week, i thought it would be easier to post all the pics onto one posting. i hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving and is mourning the beavs lost OK...
his four month appointment: stats were, 14lbs, 11ounces and 24 inches long...and checked out perfectly. matt hadn't seen him roll, and he put on quite the show and rolled over twice on the exam table.

go obama!
barack obama...first african american president in the history of the united states of america! i feel pretty darn excited my little boy will grow up with president obama as the main leader of the united states. my hope is my little man is raised to be accepting of the rich, poor, disabled, gay, straight, old, young, black, white, and any religion! i think we'd all be able to live more fulfiling lives if we started living with these morals! peace and love to 4 to 8 years of change and HOPE!
Barack's opening of his acceptance speech: "If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen, by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different, that their voices could be that difference.
It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled. Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of individuals or a collection of red states and blue states.
We are, and always will be, the United States of America"

trick or treat
trick or treat...brev survived his first halloween! matt and i got a big kick out of seeing him dressed up. i'm not sure how much he liked it though...was a tired and overheated puppy so we had to change him halfway through the evening! :) we took him downtown where there were several children his age. it was darling seeing all the costumes and what we have to look forward to in the years to come. here are a few pics of our little puppy and then a mini doctor by the end of the night...

pumpkin patch
hello and happy halloween!
yesterday we made the beautiful drive out to the applegate valley to visit the pumpkin patch. it seemed more like a summer day but surrounded by dashes of yellow, orange and red vibrant trees. we decided the pumpkin patch was more about taking pictures of their "first" visit to the pumpkin patch this year! :) katie and izaak cruised down from corvallis so that was sure a treat. brev and izaak picked up some darling mini pumpkins that we'll carve tonight. matt was the photographer yesterday, i think he got some real keepers!

a trip to nor.cal
last weekend we went down to san fran to participate in the nike women's marathon, we did the half. it was a beautiful run through the golden gate park, along fisherman's warf and the final few miles were along the pacific ocean. matt and brev met us at the finsh line. brev slept his first full night the night before the run. i'm pretty sure he knew his mommy needed a GOOD night sleep.
random pics
izaak and brev in eugene!
these two boy's together are amazing to watch. katie (my sister in law) and i are able to relate VERY well to our little boy's growth and development. izaak was born a month after and quite a few more lbs than brev and there finally just about the same size. izaak is here until january so we're trying to see him as much as possible.
sunriver with his auntie and uncles
mama and brev fast asleepboys v. girls...winner - not us
a common trend is appearing on our blog :)...i'm posting about every three weeks and cramming it all in :( so sad!
anyway, we went back to sunriver because brev loves it so much :) with our friends! enjoyed a nice weekend of bowling, snuggling into the cabin with the fireplace and a bit of wine tasting at home. brev got plenty of love and holding from all the girls!
